Merry Christmas one and all! As our season winds down, there are so many thoughts running through my head I do not know where to begin. However, before I start with any negative mentions…let me say “thank you” again to all participants for making this such a fun season…and especially to our resident Commish/IT Tech Geek Guy, Mr. Angelo Romero. Without him working the levers behind the scenes we likely would not have a league, let alone the on-line support which makes it easy for players from all across the country to participate. Well done Angelo!
As for week 15…let’s start with the Chiefs. My team and also a team without a defense. For the second week in a row, they fall short due to the fact they cannot stop ant! To lose to the Chargers at home with so much on the line brings back memories of last year and I guess I should simply ready myself for the obligatory Andy Reid melt down with inevitably will result in a first round playoff loss. The new mantra…great in the regular season…stinking it up when it really matters! Bummer. Oh well…what it is they say, “There is always next year!”
As for the standings, there are 32 games left and the Fukuma/Finan duo look unbeatable. If they go back to back, it will be the second time we have had back to back champions, but it is not over yet and likely it will come down to the final week, when you must guess as to who will play whom prior to the playoffs starting. We have seen as many as a four game move, so anyone within striking distance just has to keep the faith. There are still 5 players alive in the Riley C. contest, so there is still much to play for even if you are out of the running for the championship. Keep your chins up and Good luck one and all!
As a closing thought this week, I want to say how thankful I am for the gift of our family, and the gift of our Lord, whose birth we celebrate at Christmas. With a secular world taking over, and political correctness run amok, it is always reassuring to know we may come home and find refuge from the storm. Be well and remind yourself to slow down and do as Logan Paul does…live each day in the present and make it the best it can be in all you do!
