Mi Familia…
Week 11 took a few twists and turns that, while not completely unexpected, definitely shook things up a bit.
First, let’s talk about the good news.
After a several tough weeks, Great Grandma Sumi made it back to the top of the mountain, posting 9 wins along with Miss Robyn to take top “win” honors for the week. Well done to both Sumi and Boo!
Also hanging tough were a slew of players with 8 wins; including Mats, Chris, Sissy, Karen, Peggy, Tom and James. Well done everyone on your mastery of a tough week which saw several upsets and caused significant disruption to many play cards!
Many familiar names in this grouping, and the big question remains…who is going to stop Tom and Karen?
As we move on, what about the downside of the week. Well, it was a week with 6 teams on bye…which almost always means we lose a few more from Riley C. contention, and alas this week was no exception.
The cruel, and often fickle, finger of fate befell Sarah this week. Following a perfect 14-0 record two weeks ago, Sarah had to immediately use her “get back in” card, and unfortunately – along with Angelo – posted a 4 win week this week and both find themselves on the outside looking in with a scant 6 weeks remaining! Keep scrapping…we know anything is possible and might we see two perfect weeks? One never knows….
As for the NFL, my patience is running out. What is driving my growing dissatisfaction? It is something I touched on earlier, but it seems to be getting worse rather than better. What is it? INSTANT REPLAY! All I can say is stop the madness! The calls that are overturned too often appear to be the wrong call, and those that should be made seemingly are let “stand” time and again.
I get the concept, specifically let’s do all we can to make sure a game is not decided by a bad call…but the delays and mistakes seem to be getting in the way more than helping. I guess you can call me a traditionalist. I’d take a bad call “as part of the game” over what we are seeing today…
Ok, enough negative. I am all about the positive as each of you knows…and so to close this week I sending Angelo a photo of Logan Paul helping me identify X-Mas tree lights that are not working. Hopefully he will be able to include it in this post. We had a true “Man Day Monday” – just he and I – yesterday…and who would not be smiling getting to hang with a helper like him?
Have a great week and hugs and love to all! Good Luck and Good Picking!
