Karen Fukuma is en fuego! Back to back 11 win weeks have vaulted her to the top of the heap with her hubby, and along with Dr. Ken, once again finds herself singing with Johnny Cash for the week! Well done you two! Wasn’t it Karen who was showing apathy as the season began? Kare, you are not fooling us! We all know there is a fierce competitive streak resting under the surface and looking to strike at anyone who gets in the way! You go girl! (Sorry, had to say it. I think that saying was around in the 70’s, which just further proves I am one old dude!) As just noted, Karen and Tom take over the top spot in the aggregate result this week, pushing IT Guru Angelo down to third. That is how fast it can change, so always stay positive and who knows, the elusive

For a Chiefs fan, life was good this week.  Your team goes to 4-0, behind one of the hottest new talents in the league and beat the Broncos to boot!  Plus, Chuckie and the Raiders are struggling to find their footing, and as such what was thought to be the Chief’s biggest challenger going into the pre-season is now 1-3, and seeking answers!  Don’t look to Jennifer Tilly….she is likely playing poker!  Life is good! As for the author of this blog…I find myself wondering if anyone reads any of my musings?  This is a test.  If you have tuned in, make a comment – pro or con – and don’t forget to send me any suggestions for topics later in the season.  I have no shortage of opinions on most any topic, but for purposes of this blog please keep it in the sports realm. Week 4 saw the

Week 3 is in the books and what a crazy week it was!  As we were all hoping, the Rockies bats caught fire and we have a legitimate pennant race in full swing.   At the time of this writing…Thursday morning 9/27, and thanks to 2 wins in a row by the D-Backs and a 6 game winning streak by the Rox…guess who is in first place!  Keep it going Rox…let’s do this! Ok, back to football.  Week 3 on paper looked like a piece of cake.  A lot of home teams showing as heavy favorites, and on top of that many were playing great football…so what happens, you guessed it, several laid eggs wreaked havoc on our standings.  It was a painful week for many, and a survival week for those who just made the requisite 8 win tally to stay in Riley C. contention! To name a few, how about the Patriots,

Random thoughts and musings from the Commish following week 2. What a difference a week makes!  Or does it?  Another tie, more upsets and unexpected winners as well as some familiar names on top – with one very notable exception.  Who is the exception you ask?  Let me tell you…it is one Sandra Jo Reed!  Came back in kicking an screaming this year and is already singing with Johnny Cash!  More on this later, but suffice it to say…congratulations Sandy and welcome back! Good to see the women of the family rising to the top.  Kare, Peggy and Robyn coming in second last week, and Angi and Jill this week.  Look out one and all, there could be some new sheriff’s in town this year!  As for me, the week found football on the back burner.  The Giants managed to take two from the Rox, which I admit was difficult to watch, as I truly wanted the Rox

Good Morning Fukuma Family Football Pickers! Week one is in the books and we have already seen surprises a plenty… including a tie – Cleveland almost had its first win in two years, “upsets” – if there can be such a thing in week one, a major 4th quarter comeback by Green Bay, an elimination from Riley C. contention and the Rockies receiving more votes than the Broncos as to who was going to be watched in last Sunday’s game!  That has to be a first! Who is out of Riley C.?  Unfortunately, Jill is on the outside looking in and will need a perfect week to get back in the running.   Of all the people to be eliminated…this is the award she covets most, so Sissy, know I am pulling for you to rebound!  Don’t lose hope…you can do it! Great to see all the new players this year, and several returning players
