Merry Christmas one and all! As our season winds down, there are so many thoughts running through my head I do not know where to begin. However, before I start with any negative mentions…let me say “thank you” again to all participants for making this such a fun season…and especially to our resident Commish/IT Tech Geek Guy, Mr. Angelo Romero. Without him working the levers behind the scenes we likely would not have a league, let alone the on-line support which makes it easy for players from all across the country to participate. Well done Angelo! As for week 15…let’s start with the Chiefs. My team and also a team without a defense. For the second week in a row, they fall short due to the fact they cannot stop ant! To lose to the Chargers at home with so much on the line brings back memories of last year

Hola! Results are not yet out for week 14, but I wanted to catch up with blog posts and am writing this week’s entry ahead of the weekly tally’s.  On the strength of some late game heroics, yes, I lost the close ones again this week, I am hoping to make up ground that was lost in week 13.   Who had the Jets?  Miami?  Oakland?  San Francisco?  Shall I continue?  What a mess.  I have to admit, my favorite game of the week had to be the Miami/New England tilt.  I was so looking forward to seeing Bill Belichick’s post game comments…only to be disappointed, but what a finish it was!  I had it in the win column right along side the Bills, who once again proved that the only thing the prevent defense does…is prevent you from winning!  That one hurt…If you have Comcast, don’t you love NFL RedZone? So, in lieu

Buenos tardes! Last August we lost the Queen of Soul…Aretha Franklin. I loved listening to Aretha sing. She was power and grace personified and songs like “Oh Happy Days” and Otis Reddings’ “R-E-S-P-E-C-T” resonated with music fans the world over. They were songs that told a story and did so in a way that inevitably lifted the listener up, regardless of the mood they were in previously. I don’t know exactly why, but after week 13 was in the books; I put on an Aretha disc and found myself wondering who today, could do what Lady Soul did in her day; and what similarities existed between artists of yesteryear and today. I could name several that came to mind, but the point of this story is that as I did so, I broke out laughing! I had become my parents! All I could see was my mother yelling at me

Hi All… I am writing this post before results for the week are known.  It is  Christmas week and we have much to do, don’t you know!  🙂   As I sit here reflecting on yet another “most awesome” Thanksgiving Day with family and friends, I am reminded once again how blessed we are to be able to enjoy this time together; and it was brought home even more this year as we were missing key members of our clan with the Reed’s in Oregon and Miss Nicole stuck in a nor’easter.  The second annual Turkey Bowl definitely looked different, with Lexi not able to repeat her “torpedo touchdown”, Rachel hobbling past my absent partner for a go ahead score, the whole game lacking Angi’s energy and of course who can forget Nicole’s kicking prowess!  All in all though, it was truly another great day!   Thanks to all for all the food prep as

Mi Familia… Week 11 took a few twists and turns that, while not completely unexpected, definitely shook things up a bit. First, let’s talk about the good news. After a several tough weeks, Great Grandma Sumi made it back to the top of the mountain, posting 9 wins along with Miss Robyn to take top “win” honors for the week. Well done to both Sumi and Boo! Also hanging tough were a slew of players with 8 wins; including Mats, Chris, Sissy, Karen, Peggy, Tom and James. Well done everyone on your mastery of a tough week which saw several upsets and caused significant disruption to many play cards! Many familiar names in this grouping, and the big question remains…who is going to stop Tom and Karen? As we move on, what about the downside of the week. Well, it was a week with 6 teams on bye…which almost always
