For a Chiefs fan, life was good this week.  Your team goes to 4-0, behind one of the hottest new talents in the league and beat the Broncos to boot!  Plus, Chuckie and the Raiders are struggling to find their footing, and as such what was thought to be the Chief’s biggest challenger going into the pre-season is now 1-3, and seeking answers!  Don’t look to Jennifer Tilly….she is likely playing poker!  Life is good!
As for the author of this blog…I find myself wondering if anyone reads any of my musings?  This is a test.  If you have tuned in, make a comment – pro or con – and don’t forget to send me any suggestions for topics later in the season.  I have no shortage of opinions on most any topic, but for purposes of this blog please keep it in the sports realm.
Week 4 saw the ladies once again rise to the top, with Karen and Sarah joining life partners JB and Ken at the top of the standings.
All 4 posted 11 wins against 4 losses, which tightened the season to date standings as well and find themselves singing with Johnny Cash on this fine day.
It is still early so avoid reading too much into where you sit today, good or bad, and just remember…one great week allows for significant improvement in your overall placement so do not lose hope!
On the flip side, Aunty Mats grew tired of other people having all the fun with her man crush Elvis, and checked into the Heartbreak Hotel this week with 5 wins.  A rough week to be sure, but knowing Mats, she found a way to have some fun with the King regardless!
Re: the aggregate totals, Angelo, our infamous IT Tech and Uncle Tom, our resident statistician and numbers mastermind remain on top.  Each have recorded 40 wins through the first quarter of the season and are followed closely by yours truly and Karen, with 39 wins each.  There is a whole slew of pickers just behind these totals so don’t forget to check where you sit each week.
Hope everyone is enjoying the season so far and it is hard to believe we are heading into the fall time change and the Holiday’s.  Where did the year go?  I have always heard life moves by faster the older you get.  Is this true?  I do not know for sure, but I do know I it takes me longer to get out of bed, so perhaps that is what makes my days shorter?  Who knows!
Lastly, it is coming down to the wire for the Rox!  Wear your purple and get out to cheer them on if you are able!
Good luck and good picking!
Hugs and love to all!
Commish
